John is the founding pastor of Hillside Baptist Church. John had been serving as the Youth Pastor of Elk Ridge Baptist Church in Stephenville. After much prayer and counsel, John was sent out from Elk Ridge to establish a new church in Bluff Dale, Tx. John has a ThM in Pastoral Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary and has been serving in ministry since 2011.

John is married to Melody Magnus who works as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Stephenville. They have 3 children, Caleb, Joel, and Evelyn.
